Filter by category
When your expense list grows, finding specific entries becomes important. SpenGo's category filter lets you narrow the list to exactly the type of spending you care about.
Tap any category icon in the filter row to show only those expenses.
Tap the same icon again to clear the filter and show everything.
Combine filtering with sorting (newest first, oldest first, highest amount) for precise views.
The filter works across all time periods — daily, weekly, monthly, or all-time.

Your expenses. Your Google Sheet.
SpenGo is a fast, mobile-first expense tracker built on a simple principle: your financial data belongs to you. Every expense you log is written directly into a Google Spreadsheet in your own Google Drive — not into any SpenGo database or server.
On first sign-in, SpenGo automatically creates a spreadsheet named SpenGo in your Drive.
Each expense row contains: date, amount, category, and an optional note.
You can open the spreadsheet in Google Sheets at any time to view, export, or back up your data.
SpenGo has no backend server. All API calls go directly from your browser to Google's servers.
Revoking SpenGo's Google access at any time is possible from myaccount.google.com/permissions page.

Collaboration
Share with a partner
Managing a shared budget — with a partner, a spouse, or a housemate — is much easier when both people can see and log expenses in the same place. SpenGo lets the sheet owner invite one other Google account to collaborate.
Open the Share panel from your profile screen and enter the other person's Google email.
SpenGo grants them writer access to your SpenGo spreadsheet via the Drive Permissions API.
The other person signs into SpenGo with their own Google account and sees the shared sheet automatically.
Both accounts can add, edit, and delete expenses — changes appear on both sides in real time.
The owner can revoke access at any time from the Share panel — the other person immediately loses access.

Bar chart by period
Numbers in a list tell you what you spent. A bar chart tells you when and how your spending behaves over time. SpenGo's statistics screen renders a bar chart for the selected time frame so you can spot patterns and outliers instantly.
Each bar represents one unit of time — a day within the current week, a week within the month, or a month within the year.
The tallest bar is always the highest-spending period — easy to identify at a glance.
Bars are colour-coded by the dominant category of that period, so you can see what drove the spike.
Switch between Week, Month, and Year with a single tap — the chart re-renders instantly with no loading delay.

Category breakdown
Knowing your total spending is useful. Knowing where it all went is actionable. The category donut chart breaks your spending into labelled segments so nothing stays hidden in the totals.
Every category with at least one expense in the selected period appears as a coloured segment.
Percentage labels show exactly how much of your budget each category consumed.
A ranked list below the chart shows the absolute amount per category, sorted from highest to lowest.
The chart updates instantly when you switch between Week, Month, and Year — no refresh needed.

Week · Month · Year
Different questions need different time windows. Are you overspending this week? How did this month compare to last? SpenGo's time-frame selector lets you answer all of them without navigating away from the stats screen.
Week — shows the current 7-day window; great for catching short-term overspending early.
Month — tracks the current calendar month; useful for monthly budget goals.
Year — shows all 12 months of the current year; reveals seasonal spending patterns.
Tap the back and forward arrows to step through previous periods — compare this month vs. last month with one tap.
Both the bar chart and the donut chart update together when you change the time frame or navigate to a different period.
